I guess I missed it in my busy-ness but I was a bit shocked to see signs of the latest mixed greens recall in the Dewitt Wegman's. To read more and get my take on the future of the Eat Local movement, check out my latest post on the Eat Local Challenge blog.
Archive Alert: On this date in 2005 I was reflecting on the Eat Local journey.
Jennifer, great post on the eat local challenge blog. I couldn't agree with you more!!!!
I just read an amazing article on Alice Waters in the NY Times about her visit to NY. Yes I know she is coming to Syracuse and I am so jealous I could move tomorrow. I am completely obsessed with her. Anyway check out the article as she speaks to her reslessness with the pace of the local foods movement.

Jennifer one more question for you and those who read this blog. Does Syracuse have a local chapter of Slow Food USA?

Hi Heather--thanks for the note on that article--I read it (finally) yesterday after I had written my post. Can you believe when I received the paper that day the food section was missing?!?
Anyway, we have tried to form a local Slow Food Convivium and had several folks join SF to get us going but we kind of stalled out. Travis, if you're reading this, perhaps you can give us an update. It would be good to regroup.
