...where should I go out to dinner?
I'm here for a conference for work and have a free night on Tuesday. I haven't been to the crescent city since 2002 and can't even remember the excellent place I dined at last time--not even sure if it is still open. So...what do you recommend???
Syracuse native here..have some really good friends in NOLA and I have two recommdations for you:
1) Upperline Restaurant...1413 Upperline St
New Orleans, LA 70115
(504) 891-9822 (traditional new orleans fare...AMAZING!!!!)
2) Herbsaint ...701 Saint Charles Ave
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 524-4114

Here are a few:
Jacques-imo's in the updown district on Oak street. They do really fantastic cajun/creole. Bonus is the Maple Leaf Bar next door that has fantastic music.

HerbSaint and Upperline are both quite good. I also recommend a new restaurant in the Central Business District:
MiLa
817 Common St
New Orleans, LA 70112
(504) 412-2580
Bon appétit!

Hi Jennifer- Lucky you . My recommendation is a more funky than fine dining - Coop's Place on Decateur. jambalya, gumbo, etc.
I wish my daughter was still down there- she was working for the Episcopal Diosces . Any chance you know Courtney Cowart.
Enjoy your trip
