I credit my grandfather who used to cook for the Vanderbilt family at Biltmore with my love of cooking. I'm an Episcopal priest who is driven by the metaphor of the table for spiritual and temporal sustenance. After living in the Bay area for several years, I've moved to Syracuse in 2004. It is my joy and privilege to raise awareness of the wonderful food to be had in this beautiful place and the importance of local, organic, and seasonal foods. I want to change the world one bite at a time.
Cookin' in the 'Cuse chronicles my food adventures in Syracuse and Central New York--and occasionally other places around the world where my travels take me. I hope it will be a source of where to find delicious, sustainable, and fun food. In addition to recipes and food photos I delve into food politices from time to time.
Please explore the links of resources and sources of great food. If there's a great place or product I should add, please feel free to email me a suggestion. And always feel free to dive into the conversation by adding a comment.
When I'm not blogging I serve as Rector (head pastor) of Grace Episcopal Church and Episcopal chaplain at Syracuse University.
